The Cure Tour Information

Few bands have maintained an influence as strong and as lasting as Robert Smith's gothic rock ensemble, The Cure. For nearly half a century now, this British band has been a reliable generator of "stadium" and "festival" appearances, turning every appearance into a performance art event — and they sure know how to perform. But what is most striking about The Cure, and what sets them apart from most rock acts of any era, is their uncanny ability to mix accessible pop and radio-friendly length with a durability and integrity that has kept their songs enshrined in the songbooks of alternative and college rock. Unlike most acts that either palliate or skimp on "content," The Cure's set lists run long. They also "run dark and deep," and they generally grind to a memorable close.

Currently, The Cure has embarked on a major summer tour of festivals, playing in various "country" and "venue" settings across Europe, while consistently delivering marathon sets of 3 hours or more. The itinerary reads like a who's who of prestigious European festivals, going from the Isle of Wight to Rock Werchter, from Primavera Sound Barcelona to Rock en Seine. But it's not just any band bringing that distinctly cultish atmosphere to the kind of stages where people of all ages stand shoulder to shoulder.

On this "Summer Festival Tour" — whose construction looks more and more like a curated exhibition of modern post-rock and shoegaze since the appearance of Slowdive as a supporting act — The Cure will be playing 14 dates across 7 countries in the next couple of months, hitting both outdoor park venues and purpose-built festival sites along the way.

What to expect at a The Cure concert

Inevitably, "Lovesong" makes its way into the set, "Friday I'm in Love" is always good for a mass singalong, and "Close to Me" is a safe bet as a staple encore. But surrounding these concert mainstays lies the deep-cut territory that long-time fans are richly rewarded with.

Dressed in black and looking trim and ready, Smith opened with the unearthly howl that rises from "Alone," the first track of the new album, entitled, simply, "Hits." This was music made for the churches, the cathedrals, and the massive warehouses that form the main venues in post-punk cities.

100% Authentic Tickets with Buyer Protection

Buying on the secondary ticket market requires vigilance. High-demand events attract counterfeit access, shady sellers, and excessive prices. The Ticombo platform minimizes those problems with customer safeguards that protect our buyers and programs that ensure our sellers are selling real tickets to actual events. They've worked hard, and we're fine with that, because it makes our ticket marketplace damn near reliable.

The authentication process that removes fake tickets from our listings is impressive. The various ways they have to check and recheck the tickets means if we don't return to you with good news, you can bet the tickets weren't good in the first place. Add in our customer support ticket for any issues and worries, and we reckon this is as close to a sure thing as there is for getting into The Cure's event.

In the verified seller programs, the requirement for documentation ensures that the tickets being sold are legitimate. This creates a sustainable ecosystem for both sellers and buyers because it fosters a level of trust among the parties involved in the transaction. Sellers know that buyers won't try to cheat them, and buyers know that they won't be cheated. "In these programs, the verification actually means something." Because sellers have to demonstrate ticket legitimacy, the program sets up a system for the user that insures against access invalidity at the gates. When you buy a ticket from a seller in a verified seller program, it's effectively insured for entry to the venue on the date of the event. You needn't worry about your ticket being a fake because the program works like a ticket legitimacy insurance plan. Then, too, there's simply the peace of mind that comes with knowing the seller has been vetted and verified. After all, the program's not just for your seller: it's for you too. It's a way for protection to work its way down to the end user.

The next question after all this concern for the buyer's peace of mind is, what kinds of things do the programs cover? And how do the protections work? And then, just as a bonus question, what do these protections cost?

The Cure Biography

Achieving chart success didn't necessitate compromising artistic integrity — songs such as "Boys Don't Cry," "In Between Days," and "Lovesong" reigned over the airwaves, while cut album tracks satisfied those looking for something meatier. Winning a Grammy in 2005 for Best Alternative Music Album simply put on a mantle what fans already saw as self-evident: that The Cure was an important band making influential music. With an ever-shifting, constantly replacing cast of characters, the band's frontman Robert Smith has maintained total creative control — not through tyrannical measures but by having a clear vision of the kind of music he wants to make. At almost fifty years in the game, The Cure has somehow become both a revered oldies act and a band capable of surprising fans with new vibes — a perfect combination for touring and making a living.

The Cure Greatest Hits

Pornography

Achieving number eight in the UK charts, "Pornography" — though it did not provide easy comfort — was a record that established The Cure's credibility among an elite group of iconic bands that seemed to have artistic integrity in excess of any commercial calculations. The overly thick production is abusive to the ear; Robert Smith's tortured vocal performance is, for many, his most tortured and nearly unlistenable of all. The themes of disintegration and despair plumb levels of darkness few bands would dare touch. This makes the record, against all odds, a dark masterpiece — one of minimalism pushing coldness to an almost hostile extreme, and pushing Eric Lott's idea of "white noir" as an element in keeping "Young Americans" an environment in which its heroes explore dark urban underbelly ("A Night in the Life of a Music Critic," A Nation, 10-17-2005).

When to buy The Cure tickets?

Ticket sales for festivals usually occur after the complete lineups have been announced, which is often several months before the actual events take place. For example, tickets for the 2026 Isle of Wight Festival went on sale October 1, 2022. Most other festivals follow a similar pattern: they announce complete lineups and then sell tickets, usually a few weeks after the announcements and just in time for fans to finalize their plans.

For standalone concerts, promoters determine the schedule. Some venues put tickets on sale mid-morning, while others hold off until the afternoon. How do you maximize your chances of getting tickets? For starters, follow the official channels of the band you want to see.

Latest The Cure News

The 2026 tour kicks off a European leg that has them darting all over the continent, playing an impressive number of shows in a variety of venues. They headline nearly every show, performing for daylight and twilight crowds at music festivals. They are, as mentioned, touring at some of the most renowned outdoor and indoor venues in Europe, and they are also playing some kind of festival where they are the sole attraction. Hence, they are attracting a lot of attention and in many respects enjoying a number of high points in their long history as a touring band. Robert Smith, the lead singer and much of the time the lone frontman, seems to be enjoying himself. He hasn't said too much recently about new music, but "surprises" tend to happen during their performances. On occasion, they play some songs that have not been previously documented in the either noteworthy or notorious manner that a few of their songs have enjoyed.
